The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) 34th Annual ASCAP Screen Awards returned to the historic Beverly Hilton last night to celebrate the greatest names in today's film, television and video game music. This year's show was hosted by actor Richard Kind who added a special touch to the evening's programming for a packed room of VIP composers and music industry executives.

Golden Thread Productions, the first American theatre company to focus on the Middle East, continues its 20th Anniversary Season with the West Coast premiere of Yussef El Guindi's humorous and hard-hitting Our Enemies: Lively Scenes of Love and Combat, directed by Founding Artistic Director Torange Yeghiazarian. In this juicy denunciation of the mainstream media machine, struggling writer Gamal hates the way his fellow Arab-Americans represent their culture on American media. It's easy enough to take out his frustration on literature superstar Mohsen and local mosque leader, Sheikh Alfani. But when his own girlfriend and novelist Noor gets an offer from a major publisher backed with a national media campaign, how will Gamal manage his frustration? Our Enemies runs October 28-November 20, 2016 at the Thick House (1695 18th Street, San Francisco) and performs Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. The House Theatre of Chicago presents its multi-play fantasy epic, The Hammer Trinity, in its entirety with all-day marathon performances, including the world premiere of the all-new final chapter Part Three: The Excelsior King and revised versions of Part One: The Iron Stag King and Part Two: The Crownless King, playing at the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division St., February 20 - May 3, 2015. The House Theatre of Chicago Artistic Director Nathan Allen directs the world premiere of the series that he and Company Member Chris Mathews have co-written.
