On Sunday, May 23, the Drama Desk Association hosted the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone hosted the ceremony, which honored the best of Broadway and off in the 2009-2010 season. The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director), announced the nominations for the 2009-10 Drama League Awards today at Sardi's with the help of Broadway stars Kelsey Grammer (La Cage Aux Folles) and Bebe Neuwirth (The Addams Family). The 76th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 12:00pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The event will be co-hosted by Vanessa Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim) and Michael Urie (The Temperamentals).
The off-Broadway hit, Love, Loss and What I Wore welcomed a new cast on February 4, consisting of funny-women Janeane Garofalo, Joanna Gleason, Carol Kane, June Diane Raphael and Caroline Rhea. The current cast will play through February 28.
Previews will begin on Thursday, February 18th for The Temperamentals, with an opening date of Sunday, February 28th, 2010 at 6:00 pm. Thomas Jay Ryan (currently on Broadway 'In The Next Room') portrays Harry Hay.
