Let the bells peal!  Ring in the holidays with a classic tale.  Long Island's newest theatrical venue The Argyle Theatre (Mark and Dylan Perlman, Managing Partners; Evan Pappas, Artistic Director) presents the musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame, based on the novel by Victor Hugo and songs from the Disney film originally developed by Disney Theatrical Productions, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and book by Peter Parnell.  Performances began November 8, 2018 for a limited engagement through Sunday, December 30, 2018 at The Argyle Theatre (34 West Main Street, Babylon, Long Island).   Opening Night is TONIGHT, Saturday evening, November 10, 2018 at 8:00PM.

'Feathers of Fire: A Persian Epic' is a visually breathtaking cinematic shadow play for all ages, created and directed by Hamid Rahmanian, a 2014 Guggenheim fellowship-winning filmmaker/visual artist. Inspired by the tenth century Persian epic 'Shahnameh' (The Book of Kings), it dramatizes the origin story from the tale with elaborate shadow puppets, multimedia and live actors. The production, which debuted at BAM in 2016 and was presented at the Metropolitan Museum of Art the same year, returns to New York next month for two days only.  It will be presented by Fictionville Studio September 7 and 8 at Kaye Playhouse, 695 Park Ave. (at 68th Street), for three performances only before it travels to China and Paris.

American Blues Theater opens its 2017-2018 Season with the Chicago Premiere of Beauty's Daughter by Dael Orlandersmith, directed by Ron OJ Parson, and Artistic Affiliate Wandachristine. Beauty's Daughter runs July 7 - August 5, 2017 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago.  

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change -aka 'Everything you've ever secretly pondered about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.' Two Muses Theatre wraps its successful season with the musical comedy, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, June 3 through 19, in its new space shared with Monster Box Theatre in Waterford.

The Flea Theater presents the New York premiere of Restoration Comedy by Pultizer Prize-finalist Amy Freed. It will be directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar, a 2012 Drama Desk Award nominee for These Seven Sicknesses, and stars The Bats, the resident Acting Company at The Flea. Making Books Sing (MBS), the critically acclaimed New York-based non-profit that promotes children's literacy and social development through professional Theater Productions and arts-in-education programs will, in conjunction with The Louis Armstrong House Museum and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College presents the world-premiere, Off-Broadway musical Louis Armstrong: JAZZ AMBASSADOR with book by Myla Churchill (MBS's "A Band of Angels") and featuring music made famous by Louis Armstong. 59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes the return of New Perspectives Theatre Company to 59E59 Theaters with the US premiere of Michael Morpurgo's FARM BOY, adapted and directed by Daniel Buckroyd. FARM BOY began performances on Wednesday, December 7 for a limited engagement through Sunday, January 1. Press opening is Tuesday, December 13 at 7:15 PM. Goodman Theatre will present the Chicago premiere of Dael Orlandersmith's Stoop Stories, September 12 - October 11, 2009 the Goodman's 400-seat flexible Owen Bruner Theatre. Tickets are $10 - $40 and go on sale Friday, August 7 at GoodmanTheatre.org.

The 11th Annual Broadway Bears auction line-up, presented by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS on February 17 at 7PM, is here! Each year, 'Broadway Bears: A Costumed Teddy Bear Auction' is a much-anticipated BC/EFA event. These specially-designed bears (often using actual material from their respective Broadway productions, and autographed by the stars) raised $130,000 last year. BC/EFA hopes to reach even higher this winter!
