Former Spice Girl and RENT star Mel B is set to make her debut on the Las Vegas stage later this month as Peep Diva in Jerry Mitchell's burlesque extravaganza Peep Show.

L.A.'s famed Upright Cabaret kicked off their 2nd Season of star-studded poolside concert events at the new Ace Hotel & Swim Club with two sold out evenings with the stars under the stars! Featuring Broadway stars Eden Espinosa (Broadway: Wicked, Brooklyn, Hair, L.A. cast of Wicked), Shoshana Bean (Broadway: Wicked, Hairspray), Daniel Reichard (Broadway: Jersey Boys, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas), Tim Draxl (Australian Cabaret star), Leslie Odom, Jr. (Broadway: Rent, CSI, star of new George Lucas film 'Red Tails'), Audra Mae (singer/songwriter, FX's Sons of Anarchy), Jake Simpson (2x Star Search Grand Champion) with special guest Michael Sherwood (son of Legendary Band Leader Bobby Sherwood).

The 'RENT: Filmed Live on Broadway' DVD release party was held at Life Cafe on February 2nd, 2009 in New York City. 'RENT' stars Renee Elise Goldsberry, Andrea Goss, Tracy McDowell, Rodney Hicks, Jay Wilkison and Adam Kantor attended the event and BWW joined in on all the action.

Tony-winner Idina Menzel can be seen this month on PBS in a new concert, which premiered on January 15, 2009. The evening includes appearances with guest stars Josh Groban and Ravi Coltrane. The new national tour of RENT kicked off on January 6, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio and runs through August 30, 2009 in Tokyo, Japan. RENT stars Anthony Rapp as Mark Cohen, Adam Pascal as Roger Davies, Justin Johnston as Angel Schunard, Nicolette Hart as Maureen Johnson, Lexi Lawson as Mimi Marquez, Michael McElroy as Tom Collins, Jacques C. Smith as Benjamin Coffin III and Haneefah Wood as Joanne Jefferson, with Karmine Alers, Toby Blackwell, Adam Halpin, Trisha Jeffrey, Telly Leung, Caren Lyn Manuel, Jed Resnick, Andy Senor, Yuka Takara and John Watson.

Jason Donovan, Tony Sheldon and Oliver Thornton will lead the cast in the West End production of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott. The spectacular new stage musical, directed by Simon Phillips, will open at the Palace Theatre in March 2009.

Tonight, Sunday September 7, 2008 Rent will close at the Nederlander Theatre after the evening performance after playing 5,124 performances and 16 previews. On Friday, September 5th, in celebration of Rent and the enduring memory of Jonathan Larson, Kathy 'Life' Kirkpatrick, owner of East Village's fabled Life Café, a favorite hangout of Larson and an important location featured in the musical itself, unveiled a special dedicated bench in his name.
