SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, the Broadway spectacular that defied odds and expectations to conquer New York, played its final performance at the Foxwoods Theatre yesterday, Jan. 4, 2014, after being seen by approximately two million fans, and 1,268 performances. Since it began previews on November 28, 2010, and even before they bagan, the show's high and lows were in the news, making it one of the most talked about shows in theater history. During the 'back-to-school' period, Spider-Man is giving free limited edition Spider-Man Turn off The Dark backpacks. Some backpacks have a 'golden ticket' that gives them backstage access to meet cast members and have a backstage tour. This weekend two lucky winners were taken back and met Green Goblin and others, and took a tour. Check out the two winners, Giancarlo and Cosima de Chimay, with cast members Alex Michael Stoll and Robert Cuccioli below!

Broadway rocker Justin Matthew Sargent, best known for his star turn as 'Drew' in Broadway's Rock of Ages, has landed the coveted role of Peter Parker / Spider-Man role in Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. Sargent will play evening performances at the Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) beginning tonight, September 16. Reeve Carney, the original lead Peter Parker, played his final performance last night in order to begin shooting for the new Showtime series Penny Dreadful. Last night, August 29, the latest Medal of Honor recipient, Staff Sergeant Ty Carter, attended Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark. This past Monday, Carter was honored by President Obama this past Monday for rescuing a fellow soldier in Afghanistan. At the end of the performance, Bob Cuccioli (Green Goblin) gave a curtain call speech honoring Carter, and then welcomed him back stage for a meet and greet with cast members Rebecca Faulkenberry and Reeve Carney. This past weekend, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark hosted a special Mother's Day themed Everyday Hero, this time honoring Cathy Fritea, a mother who lost her first-born son. Out of her grief, she started the Angels Fund charity, which helps comfort grieving parents who have lost a child. The master puppeteers, dancers, and musicians of Cambodia's premiere Shadow Puppet Troupe, Wat Bo-in New York City as part of the citywide Season of Cambodia festival-visited Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Darkthis weekend in between performances of their performances of Sor Neakabas (The Magical Arrowhead Dragon) at Brookfield Place, Winter Garden. In honor of the troupe's visit, the Cambodian Flag was waved by the company ofSPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Dark during curtain call, and members of the Shadow Puppet Troupe met with SPIDER-MAN star Reeve Carney backstage for an exclusive meet-and-greet.

He was awarded the Medal of Honor on February 11th, 2013 by President Barack Obama. It features music and lyrics by 22-time Grammy Award-winners Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley (The Boy From Oz), and a book co-written by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger(Underneath The Lintel) and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Fantastic Four and Spider-Man comics, 'Big Love'). On Saturday, December 29, Joan Collins and her family attended the matinee performance of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark and you can check out a photo of Collins backstage below!
