Photo Flash: First Look at Dr. Seuss' THE CAT IN THE HAT U.S Premiere at Children's Theatre Company

Children's Theatre Company (CTC) has long been the only theatre in the U.S.A. granted permission to develop and produce original productions based on the work of Dr. Seuss. CTC first brought The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins to the stage and then were the creators of the stage production of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Continuing in this tradition, CTC will presents U.S. premiere of the National Theatre of Great Britain's adaptation of Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat on the Cargill Stage, now through December 2, 2012. The 2012 Summer Season kicks off with the fiery fun musical DAS BARBECÜ in the Keating Theatre, June 13 through July 15. DAS BARBECÜ, with book and lyrics by Jim Luigs and music by Scott Warrender, is loosely based on Wagner's epic Ring Cycle opera. Add in some modern day Texas twang, big hair, and big hats, and you've got a lightning-paced musical that's fun for opera buffs and regular joes alike. Children Theatre's Curtain Call Ball took place on Sept. 11, 2010, and featured a Seuss-theme to coincide with the start of our 45th Anniversary Season, which opened with Dr. Seuss' The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins.

There was a festive party at the Imperial Theatre after the show on Friday, November 13th with director Stephen Daldry and the Tony Award winning cast of Billy Elliot as they celebrated their one year anniversary. There was of course party hats, confetti, and very happy kids to commemorate Billy's 1st Birthday!
