Actor Richard Thomas will host Westport Country Playhouse's 2016 Gala "The Night They Invented Champagne: Celebrating Lerner & Loewe" on Monday evening, September 19.  Performing the music of the legendary Broadway composing team will be artists Britney Coleman, Kristen Hahn, Robert Sean Leonard, Stephen Mark Lukas, Howard McGillin, Ciara Renee, Mary Testa, Richard Troxell, Max von Essen, Nicholas Ward, and members of the New York Theatre Ballet.  Gala Director is Chase Brock, with musical direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell. 

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, the Frederick area's only year-round professional producing theatre, continues its 2016 Mainstage Season this fall with a production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's fairytale inspired musical, Into the Woods. Venture back Into the Woods as Warehouse Theatre presents the Tony Award-winning musical classic by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine.

Last night, Fiasco's version of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS opened at Menier Chocolate Factory. The innovative production, featuring just 10 actor-musicians, previously played at New York's Roundabout Theatre to great critical acclaim, and the Menier run includes the original US cast. Into the Woods runs until 17 September.

With the aim of inspiring performance and recognizing the importance of musical theater and arts education in Northeast Ohio high schools, Playhouse Square proudly held its inaugural Dazzle Awards ceremony on Saturday, May 21. The Dazzle Awards are affiliated with the National High School Musical Theatre Awards ("The Jimmy Awards") presented by The Broadway League Foundation.

A childless baker and his wife set out on a mission to begin a family but must break a Witch's curse. Their travels bring them to interact with characters from Little Red Riding Hood, Jack & the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Cinderella and more. The show is a delightful romp with a dose of reality thrown in the mix that makes one question happily ever after. BroadwayWorld has a fresh set of production photos below!

Design is by the 2015 Evening Standard award-winner, Anna Fleischle(Hangmen), with lighting by Lucy Carter and composition and sound by Isobel Waller-Bridge. Check out a first look below!
