As previously reported, Stephanie J. Block will join the Tony Award winning company of Anything Goes performing the role of 'Reno Sweeney' while Sutton Foster is filming the television pilot, Bunheads, for 3 weeks beginning tonight, November 4. Block will fill the famed tap shoes though November 22. BroadwayWorld caught up with Block this week and was treated to a sneak peek of the star in costume as 'Reno'. Below, we give you glimpse!
On September 27, Roundabout Theatre Company celebrated their new cast album with an in-store performance and CD signing. Director Kathleen Marshall was on hand to introducer performers and stars Sutton Foster, Joel Grey, Colin Donnell, Adam Godley and Laura Osnes, who performed classics from the show and greet fans. As previously reported, Roundabout Theatre Company recently announced a new block of tickets now on-sale through April 29th, 2012 for their Tony-winning production of Anything Goes. It was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, July 31st, 2011. The production currently stars 2011 Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as 'Reno Sweeney' and Tony and Academy Award winner Joel Grey as 'Moonface Martin,' and is directed and choreographed by 2011 Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall. After winning three Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical, Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role to Sutton Foster and Best Choreography to Kathleen Marshall, Roundabout's Todd Haimes announced to press that the hit production would extend further into 2012 on Broadway and would then tour in the Fall of 2012.
