Variety reports that Harvey and Bob Weinstein of the Weinstein Company have turned to an old friend to help promote their new film, 'Nine,' set for a limited release on December 18. Disney is the parent company of Miramax Films, which was founded and once operated by the Weinstein Brothers. Once upon a time, the split was nasty.

NINE will have a limited release on December 18th in New York and Los Angeles and will then go on wide release on December 25th.

Acclaimed theater company Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced nine initial performers who will participate in the return of its unique benefit evening STORIES ON 5 STORIES on Monday, November 9. Herlihy (The Thugs, Crooked) and Greg Keller (Broadway's Uncle Vanya, The Rainmaker). Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Indiana University Health Historian Ruth Clifford Engs will discuss and read from her edited collection, Unseen Upton Sinclair, Nine Published Stories, Essays and Other Works, Thursday, Oct. 22, at 4 p.m. at the Lilly Library at IU Bloomington. A reception with light refreshments will follow.
