The new Broadway revival of "Anything Goes," Cole Porter's timeless classic musical theatre masterpiece, opens at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre on November 28, 2012 at 8 p.m., and continues through January 6, 2013. A preview performance will take place on November 27.

Primary Stages previously announced program details for their annual Gala tonight, November 14, 2012 at 6:30PM at The Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47th Street). The event, which honors Tony Award winner Tyne Daly (Master Class, Rabbit Hole, Gypsy), and producers and Primary Stages Board members Jamie deRoy and Ted Snowdon, features performances by Tony Award nominee Tom Wopat (Sondheim on Sondheim, A Catered Affair), actor/director/producer Tamara Tunie ("Law & Order: SVU," "As The World Turns"), Lewis Cleale (The Book of Mormon, Spamalot, Call Me Madam), and Garrett Sorenson (Master Class). Speakers will include Julie Halston (Anything Goes, Olive and the Bitter Herbs), Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter Michael Cristofer (The Shadow Box, The Witches of Eastwick), and Executive Director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) Tom Viola. The Gala Chairs are Barry Feirstein and Tom Kirdahy.

Nancy Opel and Edward Gero Set to Lead Ford's Theatre's HELLO, DOLLY!

Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault and Signature Theatre Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer today announced that Tony-nominated actress Nancy Opel (Broadway's "Memphis," "Urinetown," "Teddy & Alice," "Sunday in the Park with George," "Anything Goes," others) and Edward Gero ("King Lear" with Stacey Keach for Goodman and Shakespeare Theatre Company; Ford's "A Christmas Carol"; Goodman and Arena Stage's "Red") will star in the spring production of "Hello, Dolly!" at Ford's Theatre (511 10th Street NW). The production will be directed by Schaeffer and co-produced by Ford's Theatre and Virginia's Tony-winning Signature Theatre. The production will play from March 15 through May 18, 2013. Additional casting will be announced in early 2013.
Hennepin Theatre Trust Announces 56 Schools Participating in the 2012-13 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program

Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced that 56 schools will participate in the 2012-13 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program, including five new schools and nine from greater Minnesota. Now in its eighth successful year, SpotLight is the Trust's flagship education initiative which honors, supports, provides training and advocates for Minnesota high school musical theatre students and programs. A full list of participants is included at the end of this press release.
