Theater for the New City Will Present Donald E. Lacy Jr. in COLORSTRUCK

From February 27 to March 15, Theater for the New City (TNC) will present comedian/actor/broadcaster Donald E. Lacy Jr. updating his one man show, 'ColorStruck,' a bittersweet examination of how cultural assumptions drive American society. Since national politics provide a never-ending supply of new material, the piece is continually reshaped. The velocity of change since TNC presented the show's New York debut last year (Feb-March, 2019) has inspired Lacy to initiate a new version that reflects pressing current events.

Volbeat Announce 15 U.S. Headline Dates On The 'Rewind, Replay, Rebound World Tour'

Today, multi-platinum Danish rock band Volbeat confirm 15 U.S. headlining dates on their  “Rewind, Replay, Rebound World Tour” this April and May, bringing the tour to cities including Las Vegas, Nashville, Atlanta, Baltimore, and New York City (full dates below). Special guests Clutch will be direct support on all dates, with the exception of the May 2nd Hershey, PA show which will feature direct support from Gojira. The Picturebooks will open each night on this tour. Ticket pre-sales begin Tuesday, January 14th and general on-sales begin Friday, January 17 at 10am local time here. A limited number of VIP packages will also be available for purchase and include meet & greet and photo opps, exclusive merch items and priority check in with early entry to the show and early access to merch.

LAByrinth Announces 2020 Barn Series Lineup

LAByrinth Theater Company (John Ortiz, Artistic Director; Aaron Roman Weiner, Associate Artistic Director) announces the selections for their 20th Annual Barn Series, the award-winning company's developmental play reading series. This year's series features seven new plays written and directed by LAB company members and friends. All readings are free and open to the public, and run from January 6-12, 2020 at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street, between Barrow and Bedford), where LAByrinth is the Company in Residence. Reservations will open to the public on Dec 20th, 2019.

Britain's 'Beat Hotel' Previews New Single 'Feel It'

British indie-rock outfit Beat Hotel has announced that they will be releasing their new eponymous mini-album via Occulation Recordings in the new year. Ahead of that, they are previewing their first single 'Feel It', an upbeat and notably positive song and their first composition in a long time. This is the first taste of the new 6-track offering. Both the single and album will be offered for download, but the full album is also being pressed on 12” vinyl.

Austin's …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead are returning after six years with their 10th full-length studio album X: The Godless Void and Other Stories – due out on January 17th, 2020 on Dine Alone Records in North America. The new LP comes as the band enters their 25th year together and …Trail of Dead will kick off the album release with a show at LA's Masonic Lounge in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery followed by a couple of weeks of West Coast dates. Along with the news today the band is revealing the first single via the official video for “Don't Look Down” directed, edited and produced by Conrad Keely. The single will be available via all DSPs tomorrow, November 15th, along with an album pre-order.

I wonder how I'd feel if I didn't already know those old songs by heart. That's the risk the show's creators took in translating Anastasia for Broadway.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Leguizamo will serve as co-writer and co-lyricist only for Kiss My Aztec! - 11 other talented actors will perform in this production. Taccone will also direct.
