North American Cultural Laboratory (www.NACL.org), Brad Krumholz and Tannis Kowalchuk, Co-Artistic Directors, will present the Manhattan premiere of 'THE UNCANNY APPEARANCE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES,' based on a story written by Mr. Krumholz and created by NACL in collaboration with the ensemble. Krumholz also directs. Performances begin on December 2 at HERE Arts Center (www.here.org), 145 Sixth Avenue (between Spring and Broome Streets, enter on Dominick Street), and the show will officially open on Thursday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. Performances will run through Sunday, December 21.
Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announces its eighth annual collaboration with The Chicago Chamber Musicians (CCM) on a program for young audiences and their families. Leaping Leopold! The Mozart Show by Bruce Adolphe is an interactive concert designed to introduce families with children ages four and up to the joys of live performance. The hour-long interactive concerts are Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. at Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier. At 11:00 a.m. on both days, performers are available for autographs and pictures in the Theater's lobby, while young musicians demonstrate and answer questions about the featured instruments. The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President) announces its 21st annual spring gala benefit concert, SO IN LOVE: A NIGHT OF ROMANCE AT THE RAINBOW ROOM, which will take place on Monday, February 13, 2006 at The Rainbow Room (30 Rockefeller Plaza, 65th FL, NYC). The concert, directed by Joe Calarco (Shakespeare's R&J) and choreographed by Karma Camp (artistic associate at The Signature Theatre in D.C.), will feature performances by some of Broadway's best and brightest, including: Tony Award winners Joanna Gleason (currently in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Scott Wise (Fosse), Tony nominees Liz Callaway (Baby), Ann Hampton Callaway (Swing!), Euan Morton (Taboo) and Elizabeth Parkinson (Movin' Out), as well as Tina Fabrique (Ragtime), Liz McCartney (Bingo) and Roz Ryan (The Pajama Game).
