Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) continues this summer's Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series with the New York premiere of Bachelorette, written by Leslye Headland. Directed by Trip Cullman, Bachelorette will feature Aya Cash, Tracee Chimo, Tate Ellington, Carmen M. Herlihy, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Eddie Kaye Thomas.
Paula Brancati, Lauren Collins, Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Andrea Martin, and Louise Pitre are officially set to be the first cast of the Toronto production of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE. As in the initial New York staging of the play by Nora and Delia Ephron, the production will feature a company of six that rotates in four-week cycles. The next cast will be announced in the next upcoming weeks.
It was recently reported that last year's Emmy Award winner of best supporting drama actress, Cherry Jones ('24'), had taken her name off the Emmy ballot. The news was reported by the Los Angeles Times. The popular theatre performer has written an email to Tom O'Neil, the article's author, to explain the situation.

Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director of The Public Theater, has announced the Broadway cast of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical. The new 'Tribe' will debut on Tuesday, March 9, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC).
The Junior Theatre Fest will pay tribute to the leadership and dedication of Music Theatre International (MTI) Chairman Freddie Gershon by renaming its annual student awards for excellence in theater 'The FreddieG's.' In 1995, he created MTI Education, the first educational division in a major musical theater licensing firm, which over the past 15 years has literally transformed the marketplace for age appropriate performance material for young performers. During this year's festival, taking place January 15-17, composer Stephen Schwartz ('Wicked') will be on hand to celebrate Gershon's accomplishments within musical theatre.
