Roundabout Theatre Company and Columbia University School of the Arts have announced the winners of Columbia@Roundabout's 2019 New Play Reading Series. As part of the collaborative partnership between Roundabout Theatre Company and Columbia University, the reading series awards three playwrights from the current MFA program and recent alumni with a cash prize as well as a reading in Roundabout's Rehearsal Hall, followed by a post-reading reception. Five finalists have also received cash prizes in recognition of their exceptional work. No other collaborative partnership in the New York area brings together an esteemed Ivy League MFA program with a Tony Award-winning, not-for-profit theatre. The reading series is made possible by a grant from The Tow Foundation.   

This fall, the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers hosts the nationally touring exhibition that explores Dimensionism, an artistic movement, tracing the influence of early 20th-century scientific discoveries on some of the era's most celebrated artists.

The Cleveland Opera has fallen on hard times and the only person who can saver it is Tito Merelli, or El Stupendo as he is known. Tito (Magnificently portrayed by Jamie Michael Parnell) has been hired to perform as the lead I Giuseppe Verdi's opera, Otello. The issue initially is that Tito has failed to arrive at the allotted time, sending the General manager of the opera into a panic.

Recent Grammy Award-winners Third Coast Percussion return to Liquid Music with new works by two incredible musical minds: the iconic American composer Philip Glass and the pop polymath Devonte Hynes, a.k.a. Blood Orange. Glass's new work, written for Third Coast Percussion and co-commissioned by Liquid Music, is his first ever for percussion ensemble. Hynes, who has also become a Glass collaborator in recent years, brings his "dense modern pop with roots in hip-hop, R&B and NYC culture" (The Guardian) to an entirely new sound world in his piece for Third Coast Percussion.

Television and feature film submissions for the Art Directors Guild (ADG) 23rd Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards are set to open online today, Thursday, October 4, 2018. “Production Design: Landscape of the Imagination” will be this year's theme honoring excellence in Production Design in theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials, music videos and animated feature films. The Awards Gala will take place on Saturday, February 2, 2019, moving to a new exciting location at the InterContinental Hotel Los Angeles Downtown.

Studio 52 will hold auditions for three productions this coming September 7th and 8th at the Studio 52 building.
