Hennepin Theatre Trust today unveiled the lineup for the 2009/10 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis Season featuring six Minnesota debuts including Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins, the 2008 multi-Tony Award-winning In The Heights, The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein and Dirty Dancing, The Classic Story On Stage.

What better for the month of love than a musical love story? Sunday in the Park with George opens Friday, Feb. 20, at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, Sunday in the Park with George is a complex work that revolves around 19th century French painter George Seurat, who founded the neo-Impressionist art of Pointillism.

The Huffington Post is reporting that Police in Illinois have stated that actor and playwright Sam Shepard has been arrested on preliminary charges of speeding and drunken driving. Police Lt. Mark Kotte says officers stopped Shepard early Saturday morning, January 3rd in the central Illinois town of Normal.

Included in the extension, is a special holiday matinee at 3PM on December 24th.

Today (Monday, January 23), The National Tour of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical of 2005, Monty Pythons SPAMALOT, begins rehearsals in New York, prior to a first performance in Boston on March 7 at the Colonial Theatre.
