The Huntington Theatre Company's 2019 Breaking Ground festival of new plays will be held April 12 - 14, 2019 at the Huntington's home for new work, the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. The festival is a vital part of the Huntington's new play development efforts and highlights the work of locally-based Huntington Playwriting Fellows and national writers in partnership with the Huntington. Over the last decade, Breaking Ground plays have gone on to appear at the Huntington as well as theatres in Boston, across the country, and internationally. 

Producer Rick Murray will present the 2019 Cabaret at the Crown Series in Provincetown, MA this summer at The Crown & Anchor's Paramount Theatre and Town Hall Auditorium.  Tickets are now on sale for the Series, in which an impressive list of award-winning stars will be performing live in full concerts.  Following up on last summer's smash hit season, the 2019 Cabaret Series will include the talents of comedians Lisa Lampanelli, Margaret Cho, and Sandra Bernhard, as well as Broadway stars Lucie Arnaz (They're Playing Our Song, Pippin), Lillias White (The Life), Linda Lavin (Broadway Bound, Gypsy), Lorna Luft (Promises, Promises), John Lloyd Young (Jersey Boys), Linda Eder (Jekyll and Hyde), and television favorites Leslie Jordan (The Cool Kids, Will and Grace) and Fran Drescher (The Nanny).

Having just completed their production of Venus in Fur by David Ives, OJP continues to explore gender identity under the direction of Associate Artistic Director Caitlin Lopez.

The cast for the Kennedy Center's production of The Who's Tommy has been announced! Casey Cott, star of the hit CW series Riverdale, will play the title role in the Broadway Center Stage production of The Who's Tommy. Tony Award® winner Christian Borle (Peter and the Starcatcher, Something Rotten!) and Mandy Gonzalez (Hamilton, In the Heights) will co-star as Captain Walker and Mrs. Walker, respectively.

Deadline reports that Russell G. Jones and Olivia Lucy Phillip will be series regulars opposite Edie Falco and Michael Chernus in CBS drama pilot Tommy, from co-creator Paul Attanasio and producer Amblin TV.

Today, Carole Shorenstein Hays and Sonia Friedman Productions with Tom Kirdahy announced the additional casting for the West Coast Premiere of the Good Chance Theatre, National Theatre and Young Vic production of THE JUNGLE by Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson at San Francisco's Curran. Set in Europe's largest unofficial refugee camp in Calais, France, the Jungle became a temporary home for more than 10,000 people in 2015. Under the direction of Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin, the limited engagement begins Tuesday March 26, 2019 and will run through Sunday, May 19, 2019. Opening night is Thursday, April 4, 2019. RETRO FACTORY, a project of Theatre C (Binding, The Who's Tommy, Martian Chronicles, Cotton Candy and Cocaine, and the upcoming Odd Man Out), is mounting VOULEZ-VOUS?, their latest installment in their #FlashbackFriday series. Like their debut, '1983 - the radical 80s dance party in June 2018 that paid homage to the late great Pyramid Club - this immersive theater event will be held at the 12,000 square-foot Plaxall Gallery.

The International Center of Photography (ICP), the world's leading institution dedicated to photography and visual culture, today announced the 2019 honorees of its annual Infinity Awards, the leading honor for excellence in the field. Out of the Box Theatrics presents the Off-Broadway Premiere of THE PINK UNICORN by Elise Forier Edie. Comedian/actor/broadcaster Donald E. Lacy Jr. will perform the New York debut of his one man show, 'ColorStruck,' at Theater for the New City February 28 to March 17, 2019. The play was born in California's Bay Area and has been presented on college campuses around the country and at the National Black Theatre Festival. It has been presented twice for the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's Don Quixote must end its strictly limited 14-week engagement at the Garrick Theatre on 2 February 2019. The critically-acclaimed production originally premiered at the RSC's Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in spring 2016 and transferred to the West End on 27 October.
