After thirty years of marriage, a man tells his wife that he is going to leave her. When she fails to respond to his outburst, he leaves the room. When he returns, he again declares that he is leaving her. When this attempt also proves unsuccessful he leaves the room, only to return and try for a third time to leave his wife. Thus begins Marriage Play, a look at the troubled marriage of Jack and Gillian. Through verbal and physical battles, the pair explore their life together and the institution of marriage.

Cesear's Forum has rescheduled a suspended production of Edward Albee's Marriage Play for late spring, at Kennedy's Down Under, PlayhouseSquare, Cleveland, Ohio, April 17th through May 23rd. Mr. Albee, a three time Pulitzer prize-winning playwright and preeminent American dramatist, whose works include Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?, A Delicate Balance, Three Tall Women and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, wrote Marriage Play in 1987 during a period of disfavor from New York producers and critics. First presented in Vienna, the play was produced at New York's Signature Theatre in 1993 and rediscovered at London's National Theatre in 2001.

South Coast Repertory has announced the lineup of actors and directors who will participate in the 12th annual Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). Since its creation in 1998, PPF has grown into one of the most important festivals of new scripts in the United States. This funny and touching memoir about a young man's experiences growing up in the Bronx during the 1960s will play at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre for a limited engagement March 10 - 22, 2009. A BRONX TALE is produced by GO Productions. Set design is by James Noone, lighting design is by Paul Gallo, and original music and sound design is by John Gromada. Mr. Palminteri's wardrobe is supplied by Italian menswear designer ISAIA.

It was announced today that MEMPHIS, a new musical about the birth of rock 'n' roll in the turbulent 50s which recently played a critically acclaimed and sold-out engagement at Seattle?s 5th Avenue Theatre, is aiming to open on Broadway in the fall of 2009. Based on a concept by George W. George (producer of the Tony nominated Bedroom Farce & film: My Dinner With Andre), MEMPHIS features a book & lyrics by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change), and music & lyrics by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan, in his Broadway debut. The new musical is directed by Tony nominee Christopher Ashley (Xanadu) and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys).

Baltimore's newest gang of artists, Nine Imaginary Cows Theater Collective, presents a brand-spanking-new work for the stage: There Have Been Other Men in My Wife's Bed (A Marital Arrangement for 3 Actors), running February 26 through March 7 at Theatre Project (45 West Preston Street, Baltimore).
