Williamstown Theatre Festival Names Jenny Gersten New Artisitc Director

Williamstown Theatre Festival (Nicholas Martin, Artistic Director; Joe Finnegan, General Manager) announced today that Jenny Gersten has been named the company's new Artistic Director. Gersten will succeed current Artistic Director Nicholas Martin, who will depart after the upcoming 2010 summer season.

New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is thrilled to present Hot Mikado, book and lyrics adapted by David H. Bell with musical adaptation and arrangements by Rob Bowman. Hot Mikado opens for the press on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 7:30pm and plays through Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in the Charles Mosesian Theater.

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2009-2010 Season with a revival of BETH HENLEY's Pulitzer Prize-winning play CRIMES OF THE HEART. Set in Mississippi in 1974 (five years after Hurricane Camille), this sweet, sexy comedy follows the travails of the three Magrath sisters, who come together at the family home in Hazelhurst when the youngest Babe is charged with shooting her husband 'cause she didn't like his looks.'

Chicago Dramatists, 1105 W. Chicago Avenue, is proud present the world premiere of Jade Heart, the spellbinding new play by Senior Network Playwright Will Cooper. Chicago Dramatists' Artistic Director Russ Tutterow will direct. The production will open May 1 in conjunction with the start of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and run through May 30. A special reception sponsored by Pronto 'Za will follow the 8 p.m. performance.

Two-time Golden Globe and three-time Emmy Award-winner Edie Falco and Tony nominee Alison Pill will star in the NAKED ANGELS-produced American premiere of This Wide Night, by Blackburn Prize-winning playwright Chloe Moss, directed by Anne Kauffman. Previews begin May 8, 2010 and the play will officially open at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (416 West 42nd Street) on May 16, 2010. This Wide Night will run through June 20, 2010.

Signature Theatre to Conclude '10-'11 Season with Kushner's THE ILLUSION

Signature Theatre Company has announced the final production for their 20th Anniversary 2010-2011 Season, celebrating the work of Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winner Tony Kushner. Joining the previously announced first New York Revival of Parts 1 and 2 of ANGELS IN AMERICA: A GAY FANTASIA ON NATIONAL THEMES and the New York premiere of THE INTELLIGENT HOMOSEXUAL'S GUIDE TO CAPITALISM AND SOCIALISM WITH A KEY TO THE SCRIPTURES will be THE ILLUSION, Kushner's freely adapted version of Pierre Corneille's L'Illusion Comique, directed by Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer. The production will be presented in Spring, 2011 at the Peter Norton Space, (555 West 42nd Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues). Dates and casting will be announced at a later date.

No play is eligible if it goes on to a production in New York, where there are plenty of awards, during the same award year.
