Scenic Designer George Tsypin and Costume Designer Eiko Ishioka are winners of Outer Critics Circle Awards and were nominated for Tony Awards for their work on SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark.

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin its second year with tomorrow evening's (Tuesday) performance at The Foxwoods Theatre. The occasion was celebrated at yesterday's matinee performance with the on-stage presentation of a giant (seven foot) cake in the shape of the iconic Chrysler Building. SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark began preview performances on November 28, 2010, and has become one of the most famous theatrical events in Broadway history.

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark began preview performances on November 28, 2010, and has become one of the most famous theatrical events in Broadway history. SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark has been seen since by more than 600,000 audience members from around the world. A frequent attraction for the A-list, Australian actress Poppy Montgomery recently stopped by the show and BroadwayWorld was there to catch a photo of her with the cast!

SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK has made headlines for, among many other things, completely overhauling the original version of the bohemoth musical during a lengthy preview period. In an interview with the New York Times, the show's creative team today said that there might be more changes headed for SPIDER-MAN.

SPIDER-MAN Alternate Matthew James Thomas Suffers Head Injury on SPIDER-MAN Set

According to Newsday, Matthew James Thomas, who plays Reeve Carney's alternate in Spider-Man twice a week on Broadway, was injured backstage during Wednesday's matinee at the Foxwood's Theatre. Thomas was taken to the hospital to get stitches in his head, after suffering a head injury at the top of the second act. Reeve Carney, who was in the theatre for the performance, took over for the rest of the show.

SPIDER-MAN Producers Release Statement on Julie Taymor's Lawsuit

As was reported earlier today, SPIDER-MAN's former director, Julie Taymor, has filed suit against the show. Taymor claims that her creative rights were violated and that she has yet to be compensated for the work that she put into the production before she was let go in March 2011.

Jennifer Damiano played her final performance on November 6 as Mary Jane Watson in SPIDER-MAN, Turn Off the Dark on Broadway. She will be replaced by Rebecca Faulkenberry beginning on Tuesday but on Sunday cast, crew (and BroadwayWorld) were on hand for Damiano's final curtain call to bid her farewell.

SPIDER-MAN Investor Sues Over Theatre License

According to the Hollywood Reporter, a SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK investor is suing the show for money that was used to license the Foxwoods Theatre. Patricia Lambrecht put $2.5 million into the show as collateral; so that 'even if the show never opened, the theater would be paid for restoration costs.'

In last night's Halloween episode of 'The Simpsons,' the cartoon featured a jibe at Broadway's SPIDER-MAN, when Homer was paralyzed from a spider bite. SPIDER-MAN spokesperson Rick Miramonez commented on the episode: 'Everyone at SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark was extremely flattered by last night's tribute on ‘The Simpsons.' ‘The Simpsons' is an iconic American institution, and being part of last night's episode was an honor and dream come true. As a token of their appreciation, the SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark producers, Michael Cohl and Jeremiah J. Harris, have invited the entire Simpsons family (including, and especially Bart) on an all-expense-paid trip to New York City to sit front row at a performance of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, and then come backstage for a meet-and-greet with the cast and for a champagne toast (the French stuff).'

Producers Michael Cohl and Jeremiah J. Harris announced today that Rebecca Faulkenberry (Rock of Ages) and Christina Sajous (Baby It's You, American Idiot) will be joining the cast of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, in the roles of 'Mary Jane Watson' and 'Arachne,' respectively. Jennifer Damiano, who currently plays the role of Mary Jane, will play her final performance on November 6, while T.V. Carpio, the show's current Arachne, will play her final show on. November 13. Reeve Carney and Patrick Page will continue on in their roles as 'Peter Parker/Spider-Man' and 'Norman Osborn/Green Goblin,' respectively.
