L'opera debutta al Sistina all'interno di una rassegna di teatro giovanile organizzata da Garinei e Giovannini, e nel 1973 ne viene fatta una versione cinematografica con i meravigliosi arrangiamenti di Bill Conti. The Persaud Girls Four-Book Series is Launched
by Christina Mancuso - Oct 30, 2014

Readers of the Persaud Girls four-book series can expect to experience a 'different side of Jamaican fiction' according to author Teisha Mott, who says her work focuses 'not on the familiar cultural themes, for example, of life in rural Jamaica or obeah,' but rather on love, marriage and the coming of age of four women who are not only rich but beautiful. 'I like the romance genre and have always wanted to write books that explore this area of Jamaican life. We do not produce many books of this type on the island,' says Mott. The author, who grew up in the Parish of St. Ann, says she has been an avid reader since the age of four. 'I wrote my first 'novel' at nine years old because I was frustrated with the storyline of a book I was reading at the time. I have always wanted to write books that I, and people like me, would want to read.' The four books: The Bet, Just Perfect, On Time and For Keeps, invite readers on a journey into the love lives of Andie, Samantha, Klao and Bianca Persaud. They are cousins who seem to have it all - good looks, brains, personality, and they all belong to a super rich, upper class Jamaican family. Their quest for love takes them from the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies, to Ocho Rios and New York as the author explores issues such as sexual attraction and Christianity as well as fertility and the male ego. -2- The Persaud Girls The Books The Bet (2000): Andie is the pale skinned black sheep of the Persaud family, who suddenly starts to get lots of attention from a certain popular boy on UWI campus. Does he see something special in her, or perhaps his intentions aren't exactly honourable? Just Perfect! (2003): Samantha is the 'perfect girl' - perfect hair, perfect face, perfect attitude, perfect boyfriend - until one phone call turns her perfect world upside down. On Time (2008): Klao just wants to meet Mr Right, but it is Mr. Wrong in every respect who comes into her life right 'On Time' and sets her on the right path. For Keeps (2013): Bianca wants to start a family, but when her attempts to conceive prove futile, she begins to wonder whether it is possible to love what you have when you can't get what you really want. Mott, who took a break from writing to read for a BSc in Management Studies and Economics, and an MBA in Finance and Banking at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, now lives and works in Paris, France. She spends her spare time reading and travelling. All titles in the Persaud Girl Series are available on amazon.com in paperback and digital format. They can also be ordered by email at persaudgirl@live.com or by telephoning 1 876 399 3109.
