Michael Harney, star of the three-time SAG Award-winning Netflix hit drama series Orange Is The New Black as Inmate Counselor Sam Healy, returns to his theater roots as playwright of the evening of highly anticipated one-act plays right here in Los Angeles.

The dog days of summer arrive early this year, as Rubicon Theatre Company presents a spring production of A.R. Gurney's howlingly funny canine comedy SYLVIA, a love story about empty nesters Greg and Kate, and an irrepressible mutt named Sylvia. Written by Drama Desk, Obie and Lortel Award-winning playwright A.R. Gurney (also known for Love Letters and The Dining Room), the plot follows what happens after a man going through a midlife crisis finds a dog in Central Park and brings her home without consulting his wife.

When the ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND hit Atlanta's Fox Theatre for a sold-out three-night run in 2004, they were buoyed by the critical and fan reception of what would be their final studio album, Hittin' The Note.

On January 30, 2017, Atlanta's Synchronicity Theatre launched a test-run of Stripped Bare, a new arts incubator project that gives artists a space to create and produce new work. Designed for early-career artists, Stripped Bare focuses on projects that emphasize words and ideas, with minimal technical elements. For this first year, the program was available by invitation only. Invitations were sent to Atlanta-based artists who had at least one paid professional credit, but had not originated or created more than five professional projects. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the world premiere production of Roe written by Lisa Loomer and directed by Bill Rauch. Roe is a co-production with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Arena Stage.

Full casting of the hit Broadway musical, The Life, includes John Addison (Jojo), David Albury (Fleetwood), Jalisa Andrews (Chichi), Matthew Caputo (Oddjob), Lawrence Carmichael (Snickers), Omari Douglas (Slick), Aisha Jawando (Carmen), Thomas-Lee Kidd (Bobby), Charlotte Reavey (April), Jo Servi (Lacy), Lucinda Shaw (Tracy), Johnathan Tweedie (Theodore), T'Shan Williams (Queen) and Joanna Woodward (Mary). They join the previously announced musical theatre stars Sharon D. With She Loves Me currently running at its home base, Travesties and David Baddiel: My Family Not the Sitcom to open shortly in the West End, and Funny Girl in rehearsals ahead of a major national tour, the Menier Chocolate Factory announces today that Trevor Nunn returns to direct major works from the two of the greatest British playwrights of the twentieth century.

Full casting for Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? is announced today. Joining Damian Lewis and Sophie Okonedo, who play husband and wife Martin and Stevie in Ian Rickson's production, will be Jason Hughes as Martin's oldest friend Ross and Archie Madekwe as their son Billy.

Berkeley Rep today announced that Sandra Tsing Loh's autobiographical narrative, The Madwoman in the Volvo, will be staged as a special presentation in the Peet's Theatre. The three-person show is directed by Berkeley Rep's Associate Director Lisa Peterson, who directed the production's previous runs at South Coast Repertory and Pasadena Playhouse. Performances of The Madwoman in the Volvo begin on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 and run until Sunday, January 15, 2017. Tickets will be available to the general public on Monday, October 10, 2016. Tickets start at $60 and include a beverage.

Back in February, BroadwayWorld reported that stage and screen star Kevin Kline would star in The Acting Company's reading presentation of Noel Coward's charming comedy PRESENT LAUGHTER. Now he's taking the show to Broadway, according to the New York Times.
