Glasgow International Comedy Festival Q&A: Rachel Jackson

Tell us a bit about your show.

'Slutty Little Goldfish' is a response to the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the Times Up Movement that's followed. But with jokes and fun facts about goldfish.

Do you have any top tips for anything else visitors should do while in Glasgow?

Yes!!! Stay at The Radisson Red. It's my favourite hotel in Glasgow with stunning views and rooms! Also Paesano Pizza, La Lanterna and Tantrum Doughnuts for food.

Who would you recommend comes to see you at the festival?

Anyone with a pulse please! I'm jokes. What is honestly the worst that could happen?

And who would you suggest maybe doesn't?

The CEO of Dr Pepper since I just stole their catchphrase.

What sets your show apart from others in the programme?

I genuinely try and create a relationship with the audience so it's not just me up there instructing them when to laugh. A comedian called Elf Lyons once told me I breathe with the audience which I think is so vital in comedy shows. It should be an exchange. Some comedians hate when people shout out stuff and get rowdy or whatever but I welcome those types to my show! I want it to be a f**king riot.

What's next for you after the Glasgow International Comedy Festival?

A film I shot is coming out in cinemas across the UK on May 17th. It's called 'Beats' and is set in 1994 in Scotland and I think it's going to be brilliant!!!
