The Majestic Theatre announced its line-up of shows for the 2019-2020 North Park Lexus Broadway in San Antonio Season. Pop-culture phenomenon DEAR EVAN HANSEN and Disney's ALADDIN anchor the season with eight performances of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, December 17-22, 2019, and a three-week run of ALADDIN, March 25 April 12, 2020. With eight productions, the season includes a mixture of Blockbuster Tony Award -winners, acclaimed revivals, four market premieres and beloved family favorites.

We experienced record-breaking attendance in the 2018-2019 Broadway in San Antonio season and are excited to carry that momentum forward, says Emily Smith, general manager of the Majestic and Charline McCombs Empire Theatres. Our 2019-2020 season delivers treasured family classics as well as Broadway blockbusters and acclaimed revivals, touting 26 Tony Awards!


North Park Lexus Broadway in San Antonio at the Majestic Theatre opens in September with the return of LES MISERABLES telling an unforgettable story of heartbreak, passion, and the resilience of the human spirit in a breathtaking new production. Featuring the beloved songs I Dreamed A Dream, On My Own, Stars," Bring Him Home, One Day More, and many more, this epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history.

In October, rediscover CATS the beloved musical with breathtaking music including one of the most treasured songs in musical theater, "Memory. The record-breaking musical spectacular by Andrew Lloyd Webber that has captivated audiences in over 30 countries and 15 languages, returns to San Antonio featuring new sound design, direction and choreography for a new generation.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN, winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical and the 2018 Grammy Award, makes its market debut in December. The acclaimed revival of the legendary musical MISS SAIGON returns to the Majestic Theatre stage in January. This is the epic story of a young Vietnamese woman named Kim. In a bar run by a notorious character called The Engineer, Kim meets an American G.I. just before the fall of Saigon. That encounter will change their lives forever. Featuring stunning spectacle, a sensational cast of 42, and a soaring score including Broadway hits like Last Night of the World, The Movie in My Mind, and American Dream, this is a theatrical event you will never forget.

COME FROM AWAY opens in February. On 9/11, the world stopped, on 9/12, their stories moved us all. Disney's ALADDIN will make its San Antonio debut with a three-week run March 25 April 12, 2020. From the producer of The Lion King comes the timeless story of ALADDIN, a thrilling new production filled with unforgettable beauty, magic, comedy and breathtaking spectacle. It's an extraordinary theatrical event where one lamp and three wishes make the possibilities infinite. Hailed by USA Today as Pure Genie-Us, ALADDIN features all your favorite songs from the film as well as new music written by Tony and Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Newsies) with lyrics penned by the legendary Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast), Tony Award winner Tim Rice (The Lion King, Aida), and book writer Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer).

Roald Dahl's amazing tale CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY becomes San Antonio's golden ticket in May. It's the perfect recipe for a delectable treat: songs from the original film, including "Pure Imagination," "The Candy Man," and "I've Got a Golden Ticket," alongside a toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score from the songwriters of Hairspray. The Historic Majestic Theatre is located at 224 E. Houston Street in the heart of downtown San Antonio, Texas. Built in 1929 by John Eberson for Interstate Theatres, the Majestic was intended to be the most modern building in South Texas and was the first in the state to be totally air-conditioned. The Majestic remains one of the finest examples of atmospheric theatres ever built, receiving National Historic Landmark status in 1993. Purchased in 1988 by the City of San Antonio, the theatre was renovated in 1989 at a cost of $15 million, and shortly after, in 1996, the stage was expanded, allowing the theatre to accommodate major Broadway musicals.
