Los Vivancos To Perform For Millions On CBS Just Before Folsom Performance

The dance company Los Vivancos, made up of brothers Aaron, Elías, Cristo, Judah, Josua and Israel, will perform their internationally reknown mix of flamenco, ballet, martial arts, street dance, theatre and acrobatics at the Harris Center on Monday, February 18.

But less than a week before their Folsom debut, the ensmble will perform before millions - as contestants in the first edition of The World's Best, a CBS program that seeks new talent from all over the world.

Rarely has a Harris Center artist had such a preview before taking to Stage One, but on Wednesday, February 13th, capital region audiences can watch a performance of Los Vivancos on prime time television, in which the central question emerges: Will Los Vivancos go to the second phase of the talent show?

Hosted by James Corden, the Emmy Award-winning host of The Late Late Show with James Corden, The World's Best is being marketed as "a first-of-its-kind global talent competition that features acts from every genre imaginable, from every corner of the planet." Contestants not only have to impress the all-star line-up of American judges Drew Barrymore, RuPaul Charles, and Faith Hill, but the acts will also need to break through the "wall of the world," featuring 50 of the world's most accomplished experts from every field of entertainment.

Only one act will ultimately be crowned The World's Best.

Lead by producers Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice) and Mike Darnell (American Idol, Little Big Shots, The Bachelor, Ellen's Game of Games), "This will be the first and only series where talent from all over the globe takes the stage in front of three American judges and 50 world experts," said Darnell. The "Wall of the World" is comprised of experts from every field of entertainment, from Bollywood to ballet, K-Pop to comedy, martial arts to magic, and everything in between.

Founded in 2007, with "a world tour that turned them into a massive phenomenon" (Time Out/Barcelona), Los Vivancos has performed for over a million spectators in 40 countries, including an acclaimed performance on Dancing with the Stars. Six brothers, each educated in a different city, each sharing a love of flamenco and a father who "was a musician and dancer...a great artist. He gave us this vision that anything is possible." Los Vivancos: Born To Dance comes to the Harris Center Monday, February 18, 2019, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $35-$59; Premium $65. Soaring energy, bodies sculpted through hours of onstage work, costumes that meld tradition and modern times, and pure virtuosity are the essences that make Los Vivancos the best-selling flamenco dance artists of today. Composed of six brothers educated in different cities around the world, the entire family always maintained a strong but loyal commitment to their passion, flamenco.

All six brothers speak a minimum of four languages and all play at least two instruments, being able to write and compose their own original scores. As individual artists they have worked as solo dancers for Rafael Aguilar, the Scottish Royal Ballet and Joaquín Cortés.

The Harris Center for the Arts at Folsom Lake College brings the community together to share in cultural experiences featuring the work of artists from throughout the region and around the world.
