Cape Fear Regional Theatre Presents ANNIE

CAPE FEAR REGIONAL THEATRE, winner of BroadwayWorld's Award for Best Musical two years running, is pleased to announce the opening of the hit production, "ANNIE," with Book by Thomas Meehan, Music by Charles Strouse and Lyrics by Martin Charnin, based on "Little Orphan Annie". The production is directed and choreographed by Robin Levine, with musical direction by Jillian K. Zack. The show features two different youth casts of orphans, the Charles cast and the Strouse cast. Playing the roles of Annie are Lily Hogge (Charles Cast) and Zoi Pegues (Strouse Cast). Also, featured in the company are Robert Newman as Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks, who is best known for his 28-year run as "Joshua Lewis" on the hit television series Guiding Light, and Erin Fish as Ms. Hannigan who recently played the role on the U.S. National Tour.

"ANNIE," has previews on Thursday, January 31st and Friday, February 1st, and opens Saturday, February 2nd at 7:30pm. The performance schedule is Wednesday though Friday at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 7:30pm, and 2:00pm on Sundays. Tickets are $32 (preview performances are $17). As a Blue Star Theater, CFRT offers Military Discounts for all performances and hosts two Military Appreciation Nights (February 6th & 20th). The show runs through February 24th. On February 10, CFRT will hold our Sensory Friendly Performance of "ANNIE" at 2:00pm sponsored by Tracy L. Nixon. The show will feature decreased sound and lighting, a Safe Zone outside of the auditorium featuring tactile objects and sensory experiences with a live broadcast of the show being streamed.

About the show: When Little Orphan Annie sets off to find her parents, she stumbles right into an adventure! Annie shines her light on everyone she meets-from her fellow orphans to gruff millionaire Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks. Annie's plucky optimism will steal your heart! Full of classic songs like, "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile," "Easy Street," "Little Girls," and "Tomorrow!". Annie is fun-filled treat for the whole family!

Robin Levine (Director/Choreographer) Credits include: The Last Five Years, Freewheelers, The Who's Tommy, 42nd Street, Rock of Ages, Mad Libs Live!, Mamma Mia!, Ghost The Musical, Bells Are Ringing and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, to name a few. Performance credits include Mamma Mia! (Broadway, Las Vegas), Radio City Christmas Spectacular (New York), The Tony Awards, City Center and The Joyce Soho. Robert Newman* (Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks) is perhaps best known for his 28-year run as Joshua Lewis on the longest running program in broadcasting history, Guiding Light. The role garnered him 2 Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He has recently guest starred on House of Cards, Chicago Fire, Homeland, Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Law and Order: SVU. Film credits include Amazing Spider-Man 2, Dracano, and the short film Deadline, which earned him the Best Actor award at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival in 2015. Off-Broadway Credits include Perfect Crime, She's of a Certain Age, Sessions: the Musical, and Quiet on the Set. Most recent regional credits include Kiss Me Kate, Hairspray, Noises Off, The Civil War, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (With Kim Zimmer), The Lion In Winter (With Kim Zimmer), Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, the world premiere of Naked Influence, Stephen Sondheim's Putting It Together, Other Desert Cities, Man of La Mancha, Gypsy (With Tovah Feldshuh and with Kim Zimmer), Love Letters, Fiddler on the Roof, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Deathtrap, Peter Pan, Shenandoah, Curtains, Annie, Nine, A Little Night Music, The Full Monty, and Sylvia (which he also directed.)

Other featured performers include Greg King as Rooster; Jodi Bluestein as Lily; Becca Vourvoulas as Grace; Todd Fenstermaker as FDR; Charles Cast Orphans: Hayden Cunningham, Rachel McLeod, Karissa Tyndall, Morgan Williams, Alannah McMillan, Isabella Rogers; Strouse Cast Orphans: Callie Tisdale, Brionna Autry, Khloe Terry, Jayanthi Gray, Isabella Grace Houston, Mia Ruiz; Orphan Ensemble: Jasmine Anthony, Josie Lankford, Brooklyn DeJournette, Annika Benander.
