Author Tracey Ryan Comes to The Community Hive

Author Tracey Ryan describes herself as "a little Aussie sheila with a few yarns to tell" - and she will be at The Community Hive from 10.30am-11.30am, March 12, for a free author talk.

In her first published novella, Miss Her Not, Miss Her Never, she writes about the taboo topics of family abuse, suicide and murder with the aim of challenging perspectives and promoting discussion that may bring about new understandings of the world we live in.

When a woman hangs herself from the balcony of her own apartment block, all the emergency services kick into life.

But who is she and why is her apartment so unusually clean and neat?

Strangest of all, her suicide has apparently taken place at precisely the same time as the murder of a man whose incessant violence towards her, and her children, has driven her to this desperate act.

Ryan holds a bachelor of primary education from Curtin University and has a keen interest in the dynamics of families, especially how relationships within families and the belief systems and situations of individual families impact pedagogy.

Copies of Miss Her Not, Miss Her Never will be available to buy.

Bookings essential at nedlands.evanced.info/signup.

The Community Hive is located in the Mt Claremont Community Centre and Library, 105 Montgomery Avenue.
