Pittsburgh Public Theater begins its rousing 45th anniversary season with iconic writer Aaron Sorkin's masterpiece, A Few Good Men. Signature Theatre presents Spunk based on three short stories by Zora Neale Hurston (Their Eyes Were Watching God) and adapted by acclaimed writer and director George C. Wolfe (Jelly's Last Jam, Shuffle Along). The production is directed by Timothy Douglas (Arena's Nina Simone: Four Women, Disgraced). Spunk runs from April 30 through June 23 in Signature's ARK Theatre.

Signature Theatre is proud to present the world premiere of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by DC playwright Heather McDonald (Broadway's An Almost Holy Picture, Signature's Available Light). The production is directed by Australian film and theater director Nadia Tass (Malcolm, Matching Jack) and features Holly Twyford (Signature's A Little Night Music, Sex with Strangers) as Layla, Felicia Curry (Signature's The Scottsboro Boys, Arena's Nina Simone: Four Women) as Mitra, and Yesenia Iglesias (Folger's Love's Labor's Lost, Ford's A Christmas Carol) as Nadia. Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity runs from February 26 through April 7 in Signature Theatre's ARK Theatre.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Ruth and Augustus Goetz's melodrama, The Heiress, suggested by the Henry James novel, Washington Square. After growing up subjected to her father's disinterest and strong resentment, a young woman in the 1850s discovers what love is in her journey towards independence, growth and strength, without an impactful female role model in her life. Directed by Deputy Artistic Director Seema Sueko, The Heiress runs February 8 - March 10, 2019 in the Fichandler Stage.
