The Covenant House just held the Second Annual Sleep Out: Broadway Edition last night, August 17, 2014, where members of the Broadway community spent the night sleeping on the streets outside the Covenant House to raise much needed funds for homeless youth. In the video below, this year's participants join together in 'Lean on Me.'

All of Broadway's biggest stars aligned at the Booth Theatre last night to celebrate opening night of The Velocity of Autumn, a 90-minute powder keg dark comedy by Eric Coble. Last night, November 14, Second Stage opened its much-anticipated production of Little Miss Sunshine. This new musical comedy is based on the film of the same name by Michael Arndt. It was adapted for the stage by Tony Award-winning team James Lapine, who wrote the book, and William Finn, who wrote the lyrics and music. Little Miss Sunshine's run has now been extended through Dec 15. In a new spin off show for Fox, 'So You Think You Can Dance' Emmy nominated choreographer Mandy Moore works with actor/movers on 'So You Think You Can Walk'. While choreographing the hit Off-Broadway musical 'Nobody Loves You' at Second Stage, Mandy worked with Rory O'Malley (Book of Mormon) and Lauren Molina (Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd), inspiring the creation of the parody sketch.

Tony nominee Ra?l Esparza plays the recurring role of ?DA Rafael Barba? on Law & Order: SVU beginning last night, October 10. The episode, titled ?Twenty-Five Acts,? centered on the author of a best-selling erotic novel (Anna Chlumsky) who accuses a high-profile talk show host (Roger Bart) of rape. The SVU detectives face an uphill battle when they find that her account of the rape is exactly like the chapters in her book, and along with the DA?s office (Esparza), they struggle to keep the case from turning into a media circus. Yesterday, July 14, Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore hosted the 14th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. The American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) and Broadway Impact have announced the addition of Golden Globe-winner and Academy and Emmy Award-nominee Brad Pitt to the cast of the West Coast premiere reading of the play '8.' The reading is an unprecedented account of the Federal District Court trial in Perry v. Schwarzenegger (now Perry v. Brown), the case filed by AFER to overturn Proposition 8, which stripped gay and lesbian Californians of the right to marry. Watch the video announcement below.
