The episode also aired a mock ad making fun of undecided voters and Weekend Update's Seth Meyers taking on a gaffe President Obama made about Washington being unable to be fixed from inside D.C. The Muny presents the seventh and final show of its 94th season, The King and I, now through August 12, directed by Rob Ruggiero and choreographed by Ralph Perkins. Kevin Gray, playing The King of Siam, returns to The Muny after previously playing the Engineer in Miss Saigon (2001). Making her Muny debut as Anna Leonowens is Laura Michelle Kelly. Savannah Guthrie made her official debut as the new co-anchor of NBC's TODAY show this morning, replacing former co-host Ann Curry. Guthrie told viewers that it was "a thrill and an honor to be here." President Barack Obama made his first appearance on NBC's LATE NIGHT WITH Jimmy Fallon last night. The special broadcast was taped from the campus of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Tuesday to air that same night. On the show, the President helped the show's host 'Slow Jam the News'. Watch the jam session below!

On last night's episode of Fox's AMERICAN IDOL, finalist Elise Testone chose to sing the classic Al Green song 'Let's Stay Together', a tune that President Obama recently sang at a fundraising event at Harlem's famed Apollo Theater. The show's producers decided to show a split-screen duet featuring the 28-year old New Jersey contestant and the President crooning the number.

The series kicked off last night, January 11, with a concert by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The evening opened with a surprise appearance by his In The Heights co-star, Mandy Gonzalez, for a remix of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Gotham anthem, 'Empire State of Mind'.

Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson sang ‘Happy Birthday' to President Barrack Obama in Chicago the day before he turned 50.

President Barack Obama was in New York City yesterday to begin fundraising for his 2012 re-election campaign. As part of the visit, he invited potential endorsers to a performance of SISTER ACT as part of an event hosted by producer Whoopi Goldberg. Tickets for the special performance and evening event ranged from $250 to $10,000 (the latter of which includes a photo shoot with the President). Yesterday, President Barack Obama will present the National Medal of Arts to eight recipients for their outstanding achievements and support of the arts. (Ten medalists were announced; however two are not able to attend the ceremony. Their medals will be presented at another time.) The medals will be presented by the president in the East Room ceremony at the White House. Mrs. Michelle Obama will also be in attendance. The National Medal of Arts is a White House initiative managed by the National Endowment for the Arts. Each year, the NEA organizes and oversees the National Medal of Arts nomination process and notifies the artists of their selection to receive a medal, the nation's highest honor for artistic excellence.

It was a musical evening on Fox last night, January 9, as both The Simpsons and Family Guy featured musical hits. In the first clip below, Bart Simpson re-imagines a Jets/Sharks brawl in West Side Story. In the second clip, Family Guy spoofs 'Honestly Sincere' from Bye Bye Birdie when President Obama pays a visit to the town. Compare that to the original Honestly Sincere in the third clip!

On June 2, 2010, President Barack Obama presented former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney with the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, awarded by the Library of Congress, in the East Room of the White House. The prize, named for American songwriting brothers George and Ira Gershwin, has been awarded annually since 2008 to a musician who has made exceptional contributions to the world of popular song. The prize's first recipient was Paul Simon. Last year, Stevie Wonder received the award.

This past July, Broadway stars joined in Washington for 'A Broadway Celebration: In Performance at the White House,' to promote arts education. The event featured Nathan Lane, Idina Menzel, Audra McDonald, Elaine Stritch, Brian d'Arcy James, Chad Kimball, Tonya Pinkins, Marvin Hamlisch, Karen Olivo, Assata Alston, Danielle Arci and Constantine Rousouli.
