Opening its 28th Season, Lookingglass Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of Treasure Island, adapted and directed by Mary Zimmerman from the book by Robert Louis Stevenson in a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Treasure Island runs October 7, 2015 - January 31, 2016 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Kaleidoscope Theater for Youth at The Summit Playhouse will present the world premiere of 'Children of Eden, Junior!' beginning with preview performances July 17 at The Summit Playhouse. This production will be the first ever of a junior version of 'Children of Eden'. Tony winner Jessie Mueller and her sister, Abby Mueller, headed back to their hometown of Chicago on September 22 to help launch FWD Theatre Project. Mounted as an incubator for theatre projects currently in development, FWD's concert at City Winery featured a slew of performers bringing five new works to life, including the Muellers' take on the musical-in-progress EXPOSURE. Huntington Theatre Company kicks off 2014 with David Ives' sexy Broadway smash hit Venus in Fur, deemed '90 minutes of good, kinky fun,' by The New York Times. Daniel Goldstein (God of Carnage) returns to the Huntington to the direct the 2012 Tony Award nominee for Best Play. Performances will begin on January 3 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre. Barrington Stage Company will present the New England premiere of British playwright's Duncan Macmillan's acclaimed new drama Lungs. Lungs opens the newly named St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2) from May 23 through June 10, and the press opening is Sunday, May 27 at 3pm. St. Germain Stage is located on the upper level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield.
