Broadway Records announced today the official release of An American Victory: A New Musical. The studio cast recording is now available for pre-order at http://www.broadwayrecords.com and Amazon, and will be available on iTunes and other retailers on April 22, 2016. Featuring an all-star cast headlined by Ashley Brown, Adam Jacobs, John Owen-Jones, Ramin Karimloo, Hugh Panaro and Aaron Tveit, this sweeping, epic album features twenty-one songs from the musical written by new composer Louis R. Bucalo. An American Victory is set in 1801, as America experiences brutal attacks on its ships by government sponsored pirates, whose extortion demands have grown to reach twenty percent of the entire government's budget. Based on actual historical events, An American Victory tells the story of an audacious act of defiance against organized terror that forever changes the lives of all those caught in the swirling struggle, and the path of a nation. Below, we are excited to bring you an exclusive track from the album- 'All I Am,' performed by Ramin Karimloo.

The pair recently released a concept recording of four songs written for a theoretical RATATOUILLE musical, with visuals from the film to go with them. They explicitly state, however, that they did not do this with Disney's sanction, so this seems to be more a strong hint to Disney than an assignment. Check out the live studio recording below!

Just yesterday, President Barack Obama presented the National Medals of Arts in conjunction with the National Humanities Medals in an East Room ceremony at the White House. NEA Chairman Jane Chu said, 'Whether its animation or architecture, writing or music, these artists' creativity and passion have made an enormous impact on our nation. I join the President in congratulating them and celebrating the arts in our country.' The official citations for the 2013 National Medal of Arts recipients are: Julia Alvarez, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Joan Harris, Bill T. Jones, John Kander, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Maxine Hong Kingston, Albert Maysles, Linda Ronstadt, Billie Tsien and Tod Williams, and James Turrell. Check out the ceremony below!

A special performance of Phantom of the Opera took place at the 20th Golden Mask Awards ceremony in Moscow. The performance featured three Christine Daaes Anna O'Byrne (London), Lauri Brons (Hamburg) & Tamara Kotova (Moscow) and three Phantoms John Owen Jones (London), David Arnsperger (Hamburg), Dmitry Ermak (Moscow).

Digital entertainment curator FilmBuff recently released the rocking documentary BROADWAY IDIOT chronicling the momentous collaboration between rock and roll icons, Green Day and the 'Great White Way' to create American Idiot on Broadway. This past weekend, Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA AT THE ROYAL Albert Hall celebrated its 25th Anniversary. Cameron Mackintosh's current touring production of Les Miserables will run at London's Barbican Theatre, it's English-language birthplace in 1985, for 22 performances through October 2, 2010. A Queens Theatre staple for nearly 22 years in the West End, this new run will mark the first time in London that the same musical has run simultaneously.
