Broadway officially took trip to the Netherworld last night with the opening of Beetlejuice at the Winter Garden Theatre! All throughout opening night, cast member Kelvin Moon Loh showed BroadwayWorld behind the scenes as she took over our Instagram Story. It's showtime, folks! The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in this edgy and irreverent musical comedy based on Tim Burton's dearly beloved film. Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager obsessed with the whole 'being dead thing.' Lucky for Lydia, her new house is haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium, and the biggest sandworm Broadway has ever seen.

Broadway's Future Songbook Series -- presented by Arts and Artists at St. Paul -- just presented the songs of award-winning lyricist Jill Abramovitz. Produced and hosted by John Znidarsic, the concert featured performances by: Arielle Jacobs (Wicked), Lisa Howard (It Shoulda Been You), Alex Gemignani (Sunday in the Park With George), Jessica Vosk (Fiddler on the Roof), Kate Wetherhead (Clever Little Lies), Kevin Pariseau (Legally Blonde), Dana Steingold, F. The cast of IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU recently got together for a special photo shoot which will be featured in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, photographed by Andrew Eccles.

This week's featured composer is Brad Alexander, whose children's musical Lilly's Big Day opens at The Kaye Playhouse on October 18th! Brad adapted the popular children's story by Kevin Henkes with director Kevin Del Aguila as part of Theatreworks USA's musical revue Fly Guy & Other Stories.
