The U.S. premiere of Nick Dear's adaptation Frankenstein will be directed by Sam Buntrock, returning to the DCPA Theatre Company after directing the 2013 World Premiere of Ed, Downloaded. Buntrock's directing credits include Sunday in the Park with George (Broadway, West End, Menier and 5th Avenue Seattle). The dynamic downtown theater company Naked Angels, under the leadership of new Artistic Director Liz Carlson, presents the World Premiere of SeaWife, a newfolk concert play co-created by Seth Moore (The Man With America Skin) and indie-folk rock sextet The Lobbyists. SeaWife opens tonight for its limited summer engagement, through July 19, at South Street Seaport Museum's Melville Gallery (213 Water Street) in New York's historic South Street Seaport district.
