Virginia's Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of Kid Victory, a new musical from legendary composer John Kander (Chicago, Cabaret) and acclaimed playwright Greg Pierce (Slowgirl). Dallas Theater Center will fill the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre stage with the glorious music of the most popular musical of all time in a thrilling new production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg's LES MISERABLES. Audiences will be swept away by the epic sounds of LES MISERABLES, directed by Liesl Tommy, in a new immersive production. Previews open tonight and will run through August 17.

Dallas Theater Center is currently running the world premiere new musical The Fortress of Solitude, a co-production with The Public Theater in New York City. It began previews on March 7 and will continue to run through April 6. The Fortress of Solitude is based on the nationally best-selling novel of the same name by 2005 MacArthur Fellow Jonathan Lethem. The musical is conceived and directed by Daniel Aukin, with a book by Itamar Moses, and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman.

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, presents a workshop production of the new musical The Black Suits with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Iconis and Robert Emmett Maddock. The Black Suits is part of Barrington Stage's Musical Theatre Lab, William Finn, Artistic Producer. Directed by John Simpkins, with musical direction by James Sampliner, The Black Suits will run August 16 through September 2 at BSC's St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2), located on the upper level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield. After making its world premiere to raves in Dallas on January 22, production footage has been released! The musical reportedly has Broadway aspirations for the near future.
