On May 21 of this year, BroadwayWorld threw a big party at Sony Hall in the heart of the theatre district, celebrating our 20th anniversary year online and in the community. The popular open mic night Jim Caruso's Cast Party has been a weekly tradition at Birdland for 17 years. The annual star-studded holiday event SPARKLE: An All-Star Holiday Concert returned to New York City last night, December 3rd, for its 6th consecutive year, once again benefiting the programs and services of The Actors Fund. This one-night-only extravaganza, produced and hosted by TV personality Scott Nevins (Bravo's The People's Couch), took place at The Cutting Room (44 E 32nd St.), featuring a high-wattage star power cast filled with some of today's hottest performers from the worlds of Broadway, television, film and the music industry. Constantine Maroulis made his Broadway debut in the Tony-nominated production of The Wedding Singer. He received a Tony nomination for his work leading the metal musical, Rock of Ages. He most recently starred in the dual title role of the 2013 Broadway revival and National Tour of Jekyll & Hyde, for which he received a second Drama League Award nomination.
