Expanding upon the expansive symbiosis that characterized the first two singles from New Pleasures, 'Le Palace' is a pulsing, futuristic, punky nightclub mix. Though named after the infamous Parisian “boîte au disco” (re: nightclub), “Le Palace” is not, in fact, a tribute to the club in question. 

In his first single “No Vision,” Ladd creates a character tormented by self-destructive urges, somewhere between Stephen Malkmus and Tony Soprano. This tension is reflected in the sonic texture, an incongruous patchwork of guitars, drums, and samples, haphazardly stitched together and fraying. Listen to the new single now!

Kicking off the month on January 1st is the 1945 musical comedy film Ziegfeld Follies, featuring Fred Astaire, Lucille Ball, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Fanny Brice, Lena Horne and more. The How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying film, based on the musical of the same name, is set to debut on January 4th.

The Village Players of Birmingham (BVP) begins the new decade with the William Gibson classic drama The Miracle Worker the weekends of January 17 through February 2, 2020.  Through this production, BVP will promote awareness for two area non-profits who help those who are deaf and/or blind.
