Lonny Price Will Direct 'Re-Imagined' KISMET in Santa Barbara

According to an Equity casting notice, Lonny Price will direct a production of Kismet this October at the Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara, California. With Broadway producer Ken Davenport attached as Executive Producer, the production will be presented in collaboration with the Santa Barbara Symphony and State Street Ballet.

But is life without passion any kind of life at all? Mix in the widowed town pastor Lars (Ragnar's faithful old friend), along with Lars daughter Monika, who shows up at the door in the midst of a possible divorce, and passions once again permeate the household.

The Broadway community mourns the loss of legendary actress and recording artist Barbara Cook, who passed away on Tuesday, August 8th at age 89. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in her memory on Wednesday, August 9th at exactly 7:45pm for one minute.

Today, the Actors' Equity Foundation honored Katrina Lenk for her work in The Band's Visit and Indecent as well as Will Pullen from Sweat with the 2017 Clarence Derwent Award. In addition, the annual Actors' Equity Foundation Award honored union members Barbara Barrie for her work in Broadway's Significant Other and Anthony Chisholm for his work in this past season's riveting Jitney.
