Steve Martin's BRIGHT STAR Joins Season 54 at Weathervane

Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini has announced Bright Star as the fifth show in the 2019 54th Season. Bright Star joins the rotating repertory on August 1. Based on a true story, this folk, bluegrass and country flavored musical is funny and heartwarming. Written by Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winner Steve Martin and Grammy winner Edie Brickell, Bright Star was nominated for five 2016 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Weathervane is pleased to present the regional premiere following it's recent Broadway run and hit National Tour. Paulini will direct. This title joins the already announced Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill and Sister Act. Cast, creative team and a full schedule will be announced shortly. Season 54 officially opens on July 6 with the annual Bubble and Squeak. Performances continue for 8 weeks through August 31 culminating in audience favorite Best Of. Other programming including Patchwork Players, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini has announced Sister Act as the final show in the 2019 54th Season. Based on the hit 1992 film, Sister Act joins the rotating repertory on August 21, 2019. This heaven sent musical comedy is a high energy Broadway spectacular. Adapted by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner with additional material by Douglas Carter Beane, Sister Act features a disco, pop and R&B score by Oscar, Tony and Grammy Winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater. This title joins the already announced Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. Cast, creative team and a full schedule will be announced shortly. Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini has announced Lanie Robertson's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill as the 3rd show in the 2019 54th Season. Lady Day joins the rotating repertory on July 13 and continues through August. Featuring such iconic songs as "God Bless the Child" and "Strange Fruit," Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill is an thrilling recreation of Billie Holiday's final concert. Filled with humor, hope and unforgettable storytelling, the legendary singer takes us on a journey through the highs and lows of her tumultuous life while treating the audiences to exuberant renditions of her beloved jazz classics. Alumni and audience favorite Shinnerrie Jackson returns to portray the iconic music legend. Creative team and a full schedule will be announced shortly.
Weathervane Theatre Appoints Ethan Paulini Producing Artistic Director

Weathervane Theatre in Whitefield, NH has appointed Ethan Paulini as Producing Artistic Director. Paulini served as Acting Co-Artistic Director during the 2018 53rd Season. He began as a member of the AEA Acting Company in 2012 and has also served as director of the intern program.

The Weathervane Theatre, a professional, award winning, equity theatre in Whitefield, NH, is thrilled to announce the 2018 53rd Summer Season of alternating rep. Under Co-Artistic Directors Ethan Paulini and Robert H. Fowler and Managing Director Rhonda Picou, the Weathervane will present 8 weeks of musicals, comedies and classics. In addition to Main Stage productions, the Weathervane keeps the calendar full with a variety of other programming for audiences of all ages.
Unique LipDub Launched by Retirement Community and University

What may be the nation's first LipDub performed solely by residents of a retirement community was produced in Grand Rapids through the joint efforts of Clark Retirement Community and Grand Valley State University.
