Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) presents the Tony Award-winning musical '1776,' from the book by Peter Stone, with music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards. Directed by Artistic Director and three-time Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann, '1776' is the first show of the 2017 Nutmeg Summer Series and stars Broadway's verterans Jamie LaVerdiere and Gaelen Gilliland as John and AbiGail Adams, Richard Henry as Benjamin Franklin and Adam Harrington as John Dickinson. OUR TOWN:  ActorsNET continues its 21st season with a reimagined staging of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize winning classic, Our Town.  Jarad Benn co-directs and stars as "The Stage Manager," who both narrates and interacts with the residents of Grover's Corners.  Eddie Honan co-directs.  The large ensemble cast includes Madison Kornarowski, Matt Robertson, Eddie Honan, Hannah Rappaport-Stein, Scott Karlin, Tami Amici, Libby Honan, Tim Brown, Sydney Gilmore, Anthony Rita, Seth Pollock, Daniel Booda, Tyler Brennan, Jim Palmer, Jim Cordingley, John Gilmore, Jack Bathke, Mollie Karlin, Rosie Karlin, Griffin Kemp, Marilyn Licciardello, Michael O'Hara and Olivia Schanbacher.  Produced by Victoria Benn.  Stage managed by Colby Langweiler.  Costume design by Ruth Schanbacher.  Lighting and set by Stephen Hoppe.  Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre Artistic Director to Step Down

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) has announced that Vincent J. Cardinal, Connecticut Repertory Theatre Artistic Director and Head of the Department of Dramatic Arts at the University of Connecticut will step down from his position at the end of July. Cardinal, who is departing at the conclusion of the popular 2016 Nutmeg Summer Series, will become the Arthur and Martha Hearron Endowed Professor of Musical Theatre, Chair of the Department of Musical Theatre and Professor of Music, School of Music Theatre and Dance at the University of Michigan.

Directed by CRT Artistic Director Vincent J. Cardinal, How to Succeed…kicks off the 2016 Nutmeg Sumer Series starring Emmy Award Winner Charles Shaughnessy as JB Biggley alongside Broadway's Riley Costello as J.
