Playwrights Horizons today announces a one-week extension to the world premiere run of PEN USA Literary Award for Drama-winning playwright Larissa FastHorse's The Thanksgiving Play, directed by Tony Award nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God, Present Laughter, Bernhardt/Hamlet).

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director Tim Sanford, Managing Director Leslie Marcus) presents Indigenous Voices: A Reading Series, organized by 2018-2019 Guest Curator, artist and choreographer Emily Johnson (November 1 & 6). Each season, Playwrights Horizons brings on a member of the larger New York arts community as a Guest Curator to work with the Playwrights staff. In a program complementing the world premiere of Larissa FastHorse's side-splitting comedy The Thanksgiving Play (through November 25), Johnson, an Alaskan native of Yup'ik descent, brings together four works from Indigenous writers in two free, open to the public evenings of readings.

Playwrights Horizons will, from today, October 1, through Thursday, October 4, accept entries for the Live for Five online lottery, giving out $5 tickets to the world premiere production of Larissa FastHorse's The Thanksgiving Play. Directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God and Present Laughter on Broadway), this side-splitting comedy satirizing the performance of contemporary white liberalism begins October 12 and runs through November 25.

From the first two words of the title, we can surmise that it has something to do with slavery but what does the word 'game' imply?

On Wednesday night, Ma-Yi Theater Company, in association with The Public Theater, celebrated the opening night performance of NY Times Critics Pick TEENAGE DICK at B Bar and Grill. The world premiere play by Mike Lew will now play through Sunday, July 29, 2018. (It was previously announced to close on Sunday, July 15).

Atlantic Theater Company's New York premiere production of The Great Leap, written by Lauren Yee and directed by Taibi Magar, will end the extended run on Sunday, June 24th at Atlantic Theater Company's Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street). Click here for tickets.

Vassar & New York Stage and Film have announced the next wave of casting for the highly anticipated 34th Powerhouse Season in Poughkeepsie, NY, which starts this Friday, June 22 and runs through Sunday, July 29. Colt Coeur is thrilled to announce that Zurich, a new play by Amelia Roper and directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (The Women's Project's What We're Up Against, Colt Coeur's Dry Land), will make its world premiere as part of the company's 2017-2018 season. Presented as part of New York Theatre Workshop's inaugural NEXT DOOR series, Zurich will begin performances on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at The Fourth Street Theatre (located at 79 East 4th Street, between Cooper Square and 2nd Avenue), with a final performance set for May 5, 2018.
