The classic comedy stylings of Monty Python kicks off Hayes Theatre's 2019 season with One Eyed Man Production's new take on SPAMALOT.

The McCallum Theatre presents Monty Python's Spamalot for five performances Friday, March 15, through Sunday, March 17. This outrageous musical comedy is lovingly ripped off from the film classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Monty Python's Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and their quest for the Holy Grail. Monty Python's Spamalot features a chorus line of dancing divas, flying cows, killer rabbits, taunting Frenchmen, and show-stopping musical numbers! The Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. 

Katherine Helmond, the Tony-nominated and Emmy-nominated actress, has passed away February 23 of Alzheimer's complications at her home in Los Angeles, according to Deadline. She was 89.

It was introduced by Hormel in 1937 to increase the sale of pork shoulder. Few know the true origination of the name 'Spam,' but suggestions include 'Specially Processed Army Meat.' My favorite more colorful descriptions are 'meatloaf without basic training' and 'ham that didn't pass its physical.' Spam has recently been adopted as the term for inappropriate or irrelevant messages that flood our inboxes. This all fits.
