In Chaffin's comedy, an inept private detective (whose car breaks down on a lonely stretch of country road late at night in a rain storm) seeks shelter in a secluded country mansion, only to be greeted at the door by a beautiful yet strange young woman - and a corpse lying on the foyer floor. It's the butler and hes been stabbed to death!

'Furnace,' an ensemble work of collective creation led by Tokyo based master Ko Murobushi, director-performer Ximena Garnica and visual artist Shige Moriya, has been commissioned by the 2009 CAVE New York Butoh Festival and will premiere November 5 to 8 at Dixon Place, 161A Chrystie Street, which is co-presenting the piece.

Some of the best designers from Broadway, Project Runway and fashion come out to design one of a kind backpacks for Help Is On The Way Today's Project Backpack drive designer auction. Help Is On The Way Today is a non-for-profit organization that helps and assists children living with HIV and AIDS in New York City. The mission of the organization is to step in when government agencies fall short. Founded by Joseph Macchia in 2006, Help Is On The Way Today works with clinics, hospitals, and group homes in the Tri State Area.

The Jericho House will present Katrina, a promenade production composed entirely of accounts provided by both survivors and those responsible for the failed relief effort following the hurricane which destroyed the city of New Orleans in 2005. Written and directed by Jonathan Holmes, Katrina will be performed by Andrew Dennis, Andrea Harris, Stephanie Langton, Wunmi Mosaku, Joe Speare and Orlando Wells. The newly composed score and immersive sound design, featuring indigenous New Orleans music, is by Peter Readman and Peter Nash.
