The Finkel Brothers reunite for a special evening celebrating The Great American Songbook at Don't Tell Mama in New York City on Sunday, November 24. Due to heavy scheduling the two musical virtuosos have been hard to find together on onstage this year. Elliot Finkel recently finished the Grand Hotel concert with John Schneider and Ian Finkel just finished writing and directing the one-person show phenomena, Sophie Tucker in Person featuring Cheryl Ann Allen.

COD student Katrina Dixon has set a performance level in local theatre that will be hard to surpass. In Encore Theatre's production of 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother, close to 90% of the 70-minute show is her monologue, and she holds the audience's attention throughout, proving herself to be a deft storyteller.

Lucy Kirkwood's explosive The Children begins as a caustic, bold comedy between a late-middle-aged couple (Hazel and Robin) and a friend (Rose) from many years ago who makes an unannounced visit to their seaside cottage on the east coast of England. The thin veneer of civility flakes away and the caustic nature of their relationships become apparent. What becomes apparent to the audience is that these three old friends have much more to discuss than just old times and these three actors bring years of experience and flare to the Phoenix stage.

The show takes place in the Latin Quarter, New York's premiere supper club of the 40's and 50's owned by Lou Walters, Barbara Walter's father.

From Mae West to Moms Mabley and more, Broads features classic and original material and celebrates the bawdiest, brashest, and funniest ladies from the 1920s through the 1960s. Rubicon Theatre Company's 2018-2019 Janet and Mark L. Goldenson Concert Series continues with Tony Award-nominee Sharon McNight in her critically-acclaimed one-woman show "Red Hot Mama - the Sophie Tucker Songbook." This biographical concert, written by McNight, chronicles the life and career of the first lady of show business, whose remarkable career spanned six decades. Sophie Tucker was a consummate performer on stage screen and radio, was part of the Ziegfield Follies early in her career, and in addition to her legendary artistry, was a great humanitarian.
