The Actors Fund announced today that Once On This Island has added a Special Benefit Performance for The Actors Fund. This benefit performance will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 8:00 pm at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street).

Actors' Equity Association has announced that Once on This Island will receive the eleventh annual Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2017-2018 season. Presented by Equity's National Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, the Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award honors shows that exemplify and promote the union's founding principles of diversity, inclusion, non-traditional casting and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre.

When Broadway's Once On This Island performs at the Tony Awards on June 10, the eight-time Tony Award-nominated Best Revival of a Musical will be playing to three audiences: the home viewing audience, the 6000+ people in the auditorium at Radio City Music Hall, and 130 special guests who will be in onstage seating surrounding a set that includes a sand-filled beach, water, goats, and chickens. The onstage guests will be comprised of volunteers and staffers from three organizations that bring relief to areas impacted by natural disasters: All Hands Volunteers, Americares, and UNIDOS Disaster Relief and Recovery Program.

Prolific playwright Dominique Morisseau's SKELETON CREW begins June 5, 2018 as the next Geffen Playhouse production. SKELETON CREW, the final play in Dominique's three-play cycle THE DETROIT PROJECT, focuses on four co-workers of an auto factory about to go under, circa 2008. We had the chance to catch Dominique in between her multi-tasking of writing on her multitude of projects, including Showtime's Shameless and the upcoming AIN'T TOO PROUD scheduled for a Broadway run.

The Spinning Tree Theatre production of 'Once On This Island' at the Off Broadway Theatre is ninety minutes of your life worth devoting to some excellent vocal performances and some great dance. The plotline is a little involved, but the experience is so much fun you don't care.
