Half Moon Theatre has announced that the theme of its fourth annual 10 Minute Play Festival is "Paranormal in Poughkeepsie." The 10 Minute Play Festival, which runs this weekend, June 6-8, 2014, is an evening of theatre comprised of a series of short plays, each 10 minutes in length and written by a different playwright.

Lawrence Edelson, Producing Artistic Director of American Lyric Theater (ALT), has announced that OPERA IN EDEN, an evening of one act operas written by Resident Artists from ALT's Composer Librettist Development Program, will return to the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space on Monday, June 16th, 2014, at 7:00 PM. American Lyric Theater's popular series of public libretto readings, The Living Libretto, continues today, April 2nd at The National Opera Center. Featuring guest actors from Broadway and off-Broadway, these events are the culminating readings of extensive libretto workshops conducted for the new operas currently being written by ALT Resident Artists. Each reading includes a wine and cheese reception with the featured artists, and is followed by a discussion with the artists moderated by American Lyric Theater's Producing Artistic Director, Lawrence Edelson.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces three events taking place in conjunction with the exhibition Behind Our Scenes at SPACE gallery in the Cultural District. The exhibition by five photographic artists exploring the relationship between the two-dimensional form and physical space through photographic installations and constructions is guest curated by Jen Saffron and is on view through January 26, 2014. 13P, the innovative collective of 13 playwrights, is about to culminate the mission it set forth upon its founding in 2003: to produce one play by each of its members. Pulitzer Finalist, TONY Award nominee and MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship recipient Sarah Ruhl (P#13) is creating a new, chamber version of her Melancholy Play (2001) with the composer Todd Almond and Davis McCallum, who directed a version of the work in 2002.
