Lincoln Center Launches 50th Anniversary Celebration At The Starr Theater 5/11

Today, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts officially launches a yearlong celebration of its 50th Anniversary with a commemorative ceremony in the Starr Theater at Alice Tully Hall. Hosted by renowned journalist and author Tom Brokaw, the program pays tribute to the many achievements and contributions of Lincoln Center, from the milestones of its past half century to the transformation of its campus.

Lincoln Center will launch at65, a dining space in the dramatic, new Alice Tully Hall on Broadway and 65th Street. at65 will be a contemporary cafe and bar that will be open seven days a week to serve both concert patrons and the general public. According to Lincoln Center President Reynold Levy, 'We are transforming our campus into a more welcoming, more accessible place to enjoy the performing arts, and it is vital that we have more and better amenities for our guests. When our transformation is complete, we will be offering a variety of dining options in a range of price levels. The new at65 will serve not only our concert patrons but also casual visitors to our campus and our neighbors on the Upper West Side.'

WNET.ORG to Open New Production Facility and TV Studio on Lincoln Center Campus

Lincoln Center announced today an exciting series of artistic and educational events and initiatives to celebrate its forthcoming 50th anniversary, officially beginning with a ceremony to commemorate the institution's original groundbreaking in 1959 and ending with a campus-wide open house. The anniversary celebration coincides with the physical transformation of Lincoln Center, designed to make the campus a more open, accessible and vibrant urban destination. Ribbon cuttings will be held throughout the year as redevelopment projects are completed.

New York State Theatre to be Re-Named for David H. Koch

New York City Ballet and New York City Opera today announced that their companies' shared home at Lincoln Center will be renamed the David H. Koch Theater, in honor of Mr. Koch's $100 million lead gift to the Ballet and Opera's joint capital campaign for the New York State Theater.
