Modern Classic HOLES Takes the Stage at Main Street Theater

Children and adults alike love the book Holes, the now-iconic movie of Holes, and the play. Main Street Theater Opens 42nd Season with Tale of a Restless Society on the Brink of Revolution: ENEMIES

Main Street Theater opens its 42nd Season with Enemies by Maxim Gorky, adapted by David Hare.  Enemies tells the story of Russian society in 1905 when the country sat ready for revolution.  Directed by MST Artistic Director Rebecca Greene Udden, this collaboration with the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance features a cast of 24, 8 of whom are UH students.

In Prague Shakespeare Company's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, set in World War II Britain, a group of nurses, wounded servicemen and patriots produce a radio broadcast of the Bard's classic to raise morale of the troops on the front. Main Street Theater brings this novel interpretation of the William Shakespeare comedy to its Rice Village location from December 31 to January 15, 2017.

Main Street Theater (MST) opens its 2016 - 2017 MainStage season with the regional premiere of The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson.  'It's a wonderfully theatrical (and hilarious) examination of humanity, fear, feminism, authority, and the power of storytelling,' says MST founder and artistic director Rebecca Greene Udden.  With previews August 28 & 31 and Sept. 1 & 2, The Revolutionists opens September 3 and runs through October 2 at Main Street Theater - Rice Village, 2540 Times Blvd.  Performances are on Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3pm.  Tickets are $39 - $36 (previews are $15 - $10), depending on date and section, and are on sale via phone at 713.524.6706 or online at MainStreetTheater.com.

Main Street Theater (MST) will soon re-open its completely renovated Rice Village home which has been under construction since March of 2015.  This total overhaul of the facility is part of MST's $3.5 million Capital Campaign for the purchase and renovation of the space (2540 Times Blvd. Houston, 77005).
