8-time GRAMMY Award winner Christian McBride has shared a new single “Philly Slop,” recorded with renowned Bassist and composer Edgar Meyer, from the duo's upcoming album But Who's Gonna Play The Melody?. Plus, check out upcoming tour dates!

Recorded and produced in Los Angeles by Lizzy and Mason Stoops (Ryan Beatty, Del Water Gap) with additional production by Ryan Lerman of Scary Pockets, Jeremy Most (Emily King, Norah Jones) and Tony Berg (Taylor Swift, Boygenius), Older finds the 24-year-old rising star stepping into newfound confidence.

The album, mastered by the legendary Ted Jensen — known for his work with The Rolling Stones, Green Day, Norah Jones, Madonna, Alice In Chains and more — features contributions from The Dandy Warhols, Mirah,  TEKE::TEKE, Smokey Brights, Seán Barna, Julia Massey of Warren Dunes, The Gotobeds, Big League, Labasheeda, and The Rust & The Fury. 

Kicking off February 21st at the Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu, HI the tour will visit celebrated venues and festivals including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans, LA; Stagecoach in Indio, CA; Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA; the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA  and the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TV on September 23, 2024.

The release of “Fear” comes on the heels of Logic's eighth studio album, College Park (2023), which spawned the singles “Wake Up,” “Paradise II” featuring Norah Jones, “Lightsabers,” and “Highlife,” and also included a video directed by actor and filmmaker Kevin Smith.

Brooklyn-based singer songwriter Mirah (Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn) and Montreal-based Japanese psych band TEKE::TEKE shared their contributions to Hearts & Minds & Crooked Beats, a compilation of tributes to The Clash that will benefit the International Rescue Committee (IRC).

Brian K. Pagels and Stephen Russ, the DC-area duo, Brian K & The Parkway, are releasing their second single, “Straight Through” featuring Cat Popper, known for her band Puss N Boots with Norah Jones and Sasha Dobson and for her work with Jack White, Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson, among others, who provides guest vocals on the track.

Christian McBride announced the upcoming release of But Who's Gonna Play The Melody?, a new album recorded with renowned bassist and composer Edgar Meyer. The album explores the vast variety possible with the pairing of two limitless bassists, encompassing diverse original compositions, American Songbook standards, and familiar classics.

Audible has just revealed the final special guest artists set to appear with The Energy Curfew Music Hour, featuring the Grammy Award-winning band Punch Brothers, at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre.

Norah Jones and yMusic(Alex Sopp, flute; Mark Dover, clarinet; CJ Camerieri, trumpet; Rob Moose, violin; Nadia Sirota, viola; and Andrew Janss, cello) will appear as special guest artists this Wednesday, January 10 at The Energy Curfew Music Hour.

Christian McBride performed with fellow GRAMMY winning artist Billie Eilish this weekend on Saturday Night Live. McBride brought his bass performance skills to the Studio 8H stage supporting Eilish on performances of her hit from the Barbie film soundtrack “What Was I Made For?” and the holiday classic “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”
