The Public Theater announced initial casting today for the New York premiere of BUZZER, by Tracey Scott Wilson. Directed by Obie Award-winner Anne Kauffman, BUZZER marks the return of Wilson to The Public following her acclaimed The Good Negro in 2009 and The Story in 2003. BUZZER will begin previews in The Public's Martinson Theater on Tuesday, March 24 and will run through Sunday, April 26, with an official press opening on Wednesday, April 8.
Shadowbox Live's 25th Anniversary Fundraiser Raises Over $100,000

On Tuesday evening, October 7th, Shadowbox Live, the largest resident theater company in America, officially kicked off its 25th Anniversary year with its annual fundraiser, Shadowbox Live 365. The evening, which featured historical retrospectives and the naming of Shadowbox Live's top 25 Influencers, was a massive success, raising over $100,000 for the not-for-profit troupe of metaperformers!

At 80 years old, Dr. Michael E. Glasscock III may be the busiest and most productive octogenarian in the country. He is an internationally recognized clinician, surgeon and educator in otolaryngology. He still performs ear implant surgeries to alleviate sensorineural hearing loss at The Glasscock Hearing Implant Center in Houston. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and acts as a consultant to three medical device companies. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and a reference book, Surgery of the Ear, considered by his peers to be the definitive textbook on the subject. Glasscock, who himself suffers from hearing loss, has been involved in the development of two major middle ear implants that have been approved by the FDA. He also is an actor who has appeared in commercials and independent films, and a licensed airplane and helicopter pilot.

Suzanna Smith has been a creative force on the rich Bay Area jazz vocal scene since 2005-as a performer and songwriter as well as founder/producer of San Francisco's long-standing Savanna Jazz vocal jam session and co-founder of the nonprofit Bay Area Jazz & Arts, Inc. As part of its Jazz & Popular Song series, directed by five-time Grammy Award-nominated singer and pianist Michael Feinstein, Jazz at Lincoln Center will present Cy Coleman: Bringing Jazz to Broadway on Tuesday, May 15 and Wednesday May 16 at 7:30pm.
