The Winter Park Playhouse, Central Florida's professional musical theatre, announces their 2018-2019 Mainstage Series of musical productions!

Music Mountain, America's Longest Running Chamber Music Festival, continues its 88th season with an encore performance by the St. Petersburg Piano Quartet on Sunday, August 20 (3pm) featuring Brahms, Shostakovich, and Schumann. Jazz ensemble Todd Marcus Quintet makes its Music Mountain debut Today, August 19 (6:30pm).

Chamber & Jazz music enthusiasts will want to mark their calendars for the start of Music Mountain's 88th Season! Music Mountain President, Nicholas Gordon announced America's oldest continuing summer chamber music festival will kick off on June 11th with a summer featuring Beethoven and favorite Piano Quintets! The Summer Season will also welcome the award-winning clarinetist Oskar Espina-Ruiz as the new Artistic Director for the organization. Concerts are scheduled through September 17th. Meadow Brook Theatre is filled with the beloved music of Irving Berlin in its spring performance of "I Love a Piano." As one of the premiere composers of American Music, Berlin's classics include, "Blue Skies," "There's No Business Like Show Business," "Always," and "White Christmas," all featured in 'I Love a Piano.' "We have selected an unprecedented 11 jazz ensembles plus a taste of Broadway to make this season's series one of the biggest yet!" stated Music Mountain President Nicholas Gordon.

The University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) presents Michael Armitage / MATRIX 263, on view from December 14, 2016 through April 2, 2017. The exhibition features the lush paintings of London- and Nairobi-based artist Michael Armitage, who merges European styles with East African subjects, materials, and perspectives. MATRIX 263 debuts a new body of work in which Armitage reflects on sexuality and gender stereotypes in Kenya.

This season Milwaukee Repertory Theater's Stackner Cabaret warms the holidays with the Great American Songbook: A tribute to the incomparable composer Irving Berlin in the musical revue I Love A Piano. When an old forlorn piano with one broken note magically reveals the instrument's history during the performance, Berlin's lyrics and melodies that defined the country's multiple generations play on. In this mesmerizing production filled with more than 50 Berlin songs, the cabaret regales America's 1910's to post World War II eras that stirs memories in the audience's heart and soul.
